Unking Sections

There are two of these sections. These sections contain two full diamonds each and use about 24" of thread per section. Making the sections, firming them up, and adding the oval edges are done all with the same thread.

Step 13: After firming up the diamonds on each side, position the strap so the thread end is to the right. Use the top needle to weave back up the diamond to the top size 8° bead. String 1 B, 1 A, one 5 X 7,1 A, and 1 B. Pass through the top size 8°

Step 11: Use the right needle to string 1 A and 1 size 8°. Use the left needle to string 1 A. Pass the left needle through the size 8° in the opposite direction of the right needle. Use the right needle to string 1 size 8° and 1 B. Use the left needle to string 1 size 8°. Pass the left needle through the B just strung (Figure 4).

Repeat Steps 9-11 until you've reached the desired length for half your necklace strap. Note: Three full diamonds equals approximately V/" in length after they've been firmed up. Add one half of the clasp. Weave the thread back through the piece, knot to secure, then trim close to work.

Step 12: Firm up the diamonds by threading a needle onto each end of 30" of conditioned thread and, starting at Figure 4 the clasp end, weaving back through the outside beads of the strap. Weave down each side and leave the remaining thread to attach a pendant.

bead of the second diamond. Weave thread down the left side of the second diamond. Leave the tail; it will be used to attach the strap to the pendants (Figure 5).

attaching the pendants Step 14: Position the strap to the left and a pendant to the right. Make sure that all the pendants are lying with the side that shows the center size 14s facing up. Use the bottom needle of the strap to string 1 size 8°. Pass through the size 11° indicated in Figure 6. String 1 size 8° and pass through the top size 8° of the pendant.

Step 18: Using the thread from the linking section, string 1 size 8°. Pass through the size 11° of the pendant (as indicated on Figure 6). String 1 size 8°, pass through the top size 8 of the pendant.

Step 19: Pass back through the size 8° that is directly above the top bead of the pendant. String 2 size 8°s and pass through the size 8° of the linking section. Repeat for the other side.

Step 20: Position the left linking section so that the 5 X 7 edge is up. String 2 size 8°s and pass through the top size 8° of the remaining pendant. String 2 size 8°s and pass through the top size 8° of the right linking section. String 3 size 8°s and pass through the top size 8° of the left linking section. Weave through the piece to secure, then trim close to the piece (Figure 7). Repeat the thread motion, reversing the path, for the right linking section.

Step 15: String 1 size 8°. Pass back through the second strung size 8° of Step 14. Pass through the top position size 8° of the neck strap. Weave the thread back through the connection beads and into the pendant to secure. Trim close to work.

Step IS: Weave the other thread back through the connection beads that were just added and back through the pendant to secure. Cut the thread. Repeat for the other side.

Step 17: Position the neck strap section with the attached pendant to the left, the linking section, with the 5 X 7 bead edge facing up, to the right.
